Shape the future of hospice care in West Essex

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious senior nurse leader to join our hospice at a pivotal point in our organisational journey, as we strengthen and redesign services to meet the future needs of our community. As we conclude a period of cost-savings and restructuring as an organisation, the hospice is on a strong financial footing and looking firmly to the future and meeting the specialist end of life care needs of our community.

Working alongside the Director of Patient Care and Quality, you will help shape and deliver the future of our clinical services, ensuring they remain responsive, innovative and focused on outstanding patient and family outcomes.

As Deputy Director of Nursing, you will provide visible professional nursing leadership across the organisation, championing high standards of care, patient safety and clinical excellence. As an expert in palliative and end of life care, you will lead the development of nursing practice, competencies and workforce capability, promoting evidence-based care and supporting a culture of continuous learning, accountability and improvement.

You will play a key role in clinical governance, workforce planning and service development, ensuring nursing care is delivered in line with professional standards, regulatory requirements and best practice. You will work closely with clinical leaders to further develop and embed excellence in palliative and end of life care across all services.

We are seeking an experienced registered nurse with significant leadership experience and recognised expertise in palliative and end of life care. You will have a strong track record of service improvement, professional nursing leadership and leading teams through change. Most importantly, you will be a credible and compassionate leader who is passionate about advancing nursing practice and ensuring patients and families receive outstanding care at the most important time in their lives.

This is a rare opportunity to influence the future of hospice and palliative care, working with passionate colleagues who are committed to ensuring nursing remains at the heart of everything we do.
